Management Trainee Region Asia-Pacific (f/m/x)  Austria : Graz || Malaysia : Regional Office APAC

The Management Trainee will work alongside managers and accept delegated responsibilities and duties with the goal of eventually taking over a Management position in an Anton Paar Subsidiary in the region Asia Pacific. The person will work with different departments and subsidiaries to gain perspective in areas such as sales, service, marketing, finance & admin and personnel. Through a broad training program combined with specific responsibilities for projects, as well as regular feedback discussions, we actively support you in expanding your personal and professional skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with management team to learn essential department functions such as sales, service, marketing, finance & admin and personnel

  • Understands strategies and techniques required to run a profitable business

  • Learns to identify trends and recommends proactive or remedial action to manage business situations

  • Assists other managers in developing new markets and watches industry and market trends for potential new targets

  • Acquires knowledge of strategies designed to increase market penetration, e.g., sales promotions, trade in programs, obsolescence programs, targeted discount programs for specific industry sectors, etc.

  • Provides reports related to sales performance goals.

  • Assists in strategic planning for budget and audit process across the region

  • Attends mandatory in-house technical training courses each year to stay current on new developments in the field. Also attends manufacturer trainings at our parent company

  • Requires some travel in the Asia-Pacific Region

  • Independent implementation of projects in the international Anton Paar environment

  • Interface function to internal departments and subsidiaries in the Asia-Pacific region

  • Processing of various organizational and organizational and administrative activities

  • Trainee assignment is not to extend beyond 2 years

Requirements:

  • Completed technical, scientific or economic university education

  • Must be fluent in English

  • 1 year of experience in successfully applying business and marketing concepts

  • Must maintain a current and valid driver’s license and passport

  • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong selling, negotiation and customer service skills

  • Ability to think analytically and entrepreneurially, as well as an independent and committed way of working

  • First professional experience in an international group environment would be an advantage

  • Willingness to travel internationally 

  • Hands-on mentality

This position is subject to the collective agreement governing employees in the metal sector. Your actual salary depends on your experience and qualifications. For the vacant position it will usually be set within the following range (gross per month, excluding overtime and other allowances): €2,800.00 to €3,400.00.
