Market Development Manager - Pharmaceutical Industry (w/m/d) Österreich : Graz
Anton Paar develops, produces and distributes highly accurate laboratory instruments and process measuring systems, and provides custom-tailored automation and robotic solutions. It is the world leader in the measurement of density, concentration and CO2 and in the field of rheometry. As the Market Development Manager, you are responsible for sustainably increasing our market share in the regulated pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and cosmetics industry worldwide, through developing and implementing business development and market growth strategies, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- With direct reporting to the Head of Market Development, the Market Development Manager is responsible for:
- Strategic business development including assessment of the obtainable market, and corresponding growth opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry worldwide
- Analysis of market trends, available opportunities and risks for this market segment
- Strategies to increase business opportunities with existing accounts and to identify and penetrate new accounts by working in close cooperation with the sales organization
- Joint visits with key account managers and/or sales professionals to large accounts and key opinion leaders in the industry
- Feedback to product management for further product portfolio enhancements based on market trends
- Providing feedback and collaborating with our R&D teams for product optimization.
- Development of new areas of application for existing products and services in close cooperation and coordination with the responsible product managers and application specialists
- Providing quarterly business updates on: current state of affairs, market trends, and upcoming projects (applications, conferences, meetings etc.)
Requirements:
- At least 5 years experience in market / business development: ideally for a regulated industry
- Thorough understanding of quality guidelines: US Pharmacopeia, 21 CFR part 11, ICH Guidelines
- At least 5 years experience in technical sales in a B2B environment
- Educational Background: PhD (preferable) or Master's degree in Life Sciences, Biology, Pharmaceutics, or a combination of Business degree with relevant industry experience
- High level of business acumen and economic understanding
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to prioritize and focus on the essential
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, flexible and results-driven, with a high level of customer-focus
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to develop relationships with KOL and important contacts in the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory bodies
- Excellent written and spoken communication with the ability to build long-lasting relationships with different stakeholders both internally and externally
- Experience in international and cross-cultural business environment is an advantage
- Willingness to travel internationally at least 25% of the time
- Willingness to present at conferences and participate in industry tradeshows worldwide as a subject-matter expert
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is a must; additional German fluency is considered an advantage.

This position is subject to the collective agreement governing employees in the metal sector. Your actual salary depends on your experience and qualifications. For the vacant position it will usually be set within the following range (gross per month, excluding overtime): €4,000.00 to €5,000.00.
